Gama Aviation won the Health & Safety Initiative of the Year category – its second award of the evening.
The company’s quality and safety department developed an industry-leading hazard and risk registrar database, which now allows for the analysis and continued monitoring of risk related to activities within the organisation.
Gama Aviation’s Middle East HQ has made a significant contribution to safety standards.
The database has been shown to GCAA inspectors as part of their assessment of Gama’s Safety Management System.
This database has played a significant role in the GCAA’s acknowledgment of the improvements made in the last year, to the extent that they will be using Gama’s efforts in this area as an example of what is needed to other operators during their assessments.
Safety Risk Management is centred on a systematic approach to hazard identification and risk management, assessing the potential severity and likelihood of those hazards occurring and then implementing appropriate control measures to mitigate the risks to an acceptable level.
The database incorporates all requirements to facilitate a proactive Safety Risk Management, as shown in the last page, equipped with automated reports, tracking and monitoring.
