Air service provider dnata has announced the appointment of Dirk Goovaerts to the post of regional CEO for the Asia Pacific region.
As part of his new role, Goovaerts will oversee dnata’s catering, ground and cargo handling operations at 10 airports spread across Australia, Singapore and the Philippines. He will be based in Singapore and will report directly to Ross Marino, SVP for dnata’s International Airport Operations division.

Prior to joining dnata, Goovaerts served as the chief operations officer at Saudi Ground Services Company (SGS), a post he has held since 2016.
During that time, he led a workforce of over 12,000 employees during a period of liberalisation in Saudi Arabia and is credited for driving SGS’ transformation into a highly competitive ground handler serving 26 airports in the country.
Other key highlights of his career include holding senior leadership roles at Menzies Aviation, Goovaerts most recent post with the company being the SVP of Europe.
