TS&S secure regional first with China's CAA certification

MRO service provider TS&S’ Abu Dhabi facility has secured approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to service V2500 engines.

Marking the first instance an MRO in the region has been certified by the CAAC, the announcement was made at the MRO Asia-Pacific conference in Singapore.

With this latest addition, TS&S, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company PJSC (Mubadala), holds one of the highest numbers of civil aviation authority certifications in the Middle East. Over the last year alone, the company has seen a 60% increase in the number of certifications it has secured.

Commenting on the latest announcement, Mansoor Janahi, Acting CEO of TS&S, shared: “As the region’s only CAAC-certified MRO, we are honoured to be recognized by an international leading aviation authority for our industry leadership. Our teams have extensively worked to meet the toughest requirements of CAAC which is a recognition of the highest quality and premium standards of our work.” 

The latest certification enables TS&S to tackle what is a burgeoning aviation market and the world’s second-largest economy. Currently, China sports the second largest domestic aviation market in the world, as well as the fastest growing passenger traffic rate of 6.6% per year.
