Swiss Helicopter, a helicopter firm based in Switzerland, has signed a lighting agreement with Zumtobel Group Services (ZGS), who are tasked with optimising and maintaining lighting systems across its facility in Belp.

Boasting improved visibility and higher levels of safety, the NOW light contracting service offered by ZGS caters to Swiss Helicopter’s lighting needs for a fixed monthly rate.

Within the 650-square-metre hangar, ZGS deployed its TECTON C industrial luminaire that provided higher levels of illumination at a reduced cost in power (3192 kW and 550 lux instead of 6887 kW and 280 lux).

Commenting on the agreement with ZGS, Markus Epp, head of the base in Belp, shared: “We opted for the NOW concept from Zumtobel Group Services because this not only gives us modern and improved lighting in our hangar but also the long-term support of an expert partner. A partner that will take care of the upgrade in its entirety and guarantee us ideal lighting conditions in the years to come.”

As a result of the deployment of the new lighting system, Swiss Helicopters is on track to benefit from incentives valued at roughly $3000. The potential savings were enough to secure approval for the Optimo Plus 2015 programme, which is part of the ProKilowatt initiative currently offered by the Swiss federal government.
