In recent months, the global aviation industry has seen a significant upswing, with air travel demand nearly reaching pre-pandemic levels.
The global aviation consultancy, Official Airline Guide (OAG), released its report on the busiest international airports in March 2024, based on seat occupancy.
Top 10 Busiest International Airports
According to the report, Dubai International Airport (DXB) retained its position as the world’s busiest international airport, with 4,989,008 seats, followed closely by London Heathrow Airport (LHR) with 4,002,343 seats,
Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) moved up one place and claimed the third position with 3,434,207 seats, while Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN) claimed the fourth position, with 3,370,715 seats.
Amsterdam Airport (AMS) rounded out the top five with 3,200,107 seats.

Down the rankings, Istanbul Airport (IST) claimed sixth position with 3,023,367 seats, followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) in seventh position with 2,999,521 seats.
CDG experienced the most significant surge in seats per day this month compared to the previous month, registering a 7% increase.
Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) moved back up into the busiest international airports this month, securing eighth position with 2,837,245 seats.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Qatar’s Doha Airport (QA) concluded the list, claiming ninth and tenth positions, respectively, with 2.8 million and 2.6 million seats.
