Working in close collaboration with SITA, Malta International Airport has adopted the IT provider’s airport management system (AMS), which includes modern flight information display screens.
Deployed across the entirety of the airport, the new screens relay important flight data to passengers travelling through the terminals.
Additionally, as part of the AMS, Malta International Airport staff have access to a centralised dashboard that is designed to integrate several core modules related to airport management. This includes modules for critical landside and airside operations, such as resource management, scheduling, flight information, parking and billing.
Ian Maggi, head of Innovation and Technology at Malta International Airport, said: “With a seven million traffic milestone on the horizon, it is perhaps more important than ever to harness innovation so as to have access to real-time data to plan ahead, make timely decisions, and improve our agility in allocating the resources available in a way that enhances the airport experience for our passengers and the ease with which our team can perform certain day-to-day tasks.”
Rolled out in several phases, the full implementation of SITA’s AMS was concluded in April 2019.
