Smiths Detection, a designer and manufacturer of security detection systems, has launched a new training centre in Dubai, UAE.
With several training rooms and a demonstration area, the facility features the latest in automatic explosives-detection systems and airport lanes. Open to Smith Detection’s clients, the site will give customers a first-hand opportunity to familiarise themselves with the company’s security solutions.
Consultation services are also available on site, which allows customers to acquire personalised security solutions that meet their business needs.
Commenting on the launch of the training centre, Roland Carter, global president of Smiths Detection said, “We first established a site in Dubai in 2005, this new investment is further recognition of the region’s growth potential and the UAE as a central hub for the region.”
Smiths Detection’s solutions on site include a high-speed computed tomography (CT) explosives-detection systems (EDS), such as the HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX. This specific detection technology would allow passengers to leave liquids and laptops in their bags as they pass through security at a transport hub.
Other solutions on site include portable threat- and narcotic-detection technologies, such as the IONSCAN 600, as well as checkpoint and smart lane technologies, iLane.evo and Checkpoint.Evoplus.
