US fighter jet crashes at Bahrain International Airport

Pilot ejected from the jet after it ran off the runway while attempting to land

A US fighter jet crash landed early this morning while attempting to land at Bahrain International Airport.


The F-18 jet had flown off from an ait craft carrier in the Arabian Gulf, according to a report by the Associated Press, before malfunctions forced it to attempt a landing in Manama.


The crash has affected flights from Bahrain into Saudi Arabia and airport authorities have requested passengers to check with the airport concerning delays.
