Hamad International signs MoU with Huawei

Hamad International and Huawei have inked a memorandum of understanding to explore how the Chinese technology firm can bring HIA closer to its smart goals.

The broad-scoped agreement will encourage the use of state of the art technologies as the airport moves to achieve its strategic goals, including improvements in customer experience, enhance operational security and communication, and increase operational efficiency.

“We’re looking to streamline all our processes and make them smarter,” said Engr Badr al Meer, chief operating officer at HIA, “and this partnership with Huawei will go a long way to help achieve this.”

Huawei has provided ICT products, solutions, and services for more than 40 airports, airlines, and air traffic control authorities worldwide. Customers include more than 15 global airports with more than 30 million annual passengers and the 10 busiest airports in China by passenger traffic.
