Abu Dhabi Airports on Sunday announced the appointment of Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei as its new CEO to replace Tony Douglas who stepped down last week to take up a new role with the UK Government.
Al Mazrouei currently serves as a board member of Abu Dhabi Airports and is also a board member of Abu Dhabi Ports Company. He has previously served the country in the Armed Forces, a statement said.
He replaces Douglas, who was at the helm of Abu Dhabi Airports since 2013, and oversaw passenger growth rising to more than 20 million at Abu Dhabi International Airport in 2014, with 20 percent annual growth, a trend that is forecast to continue.
Ali Majed Al Mansoori, chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei as the CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports by the board of directors.

Al Mazrouei added: “I am eager to execute my responsibilities in the most efficient and productive manner in achieving the company’s goals and objectives. I have been fortunate to have been closely involved with the various affairs and projects of Abu Dhabi Airports over the past three years, and I look forward to working with our management team and to exceeding all expectations in our delivery.”
