January ‘soft’ opening for Hamad International Airport

Qatar transport minister says passenger flights to start in the new year.

Qatar transport minister Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti has revealed that the Doha’s new Hamad International Airport will start passengers operations in January, reports the Gulf Times.

A ‘soft’ opening of the airport’s passenger operations will see ten airlines operate out of Concourse B. The airline includes Air Arabia, flydubai and RAK Airways. Cargo operations are expected to commence this week.

When fully operational Hamad International will handle 28 million passengers.
