Expanding the capabilities of the mobile app, Emirates Airlines has added a new function that enables customers to create personalised entertainment playlists that can be sync directly to their seats once on board the aircraft.

Currently available on over 100 Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft and is expected to be rolled out across the airline’s A380 aircraft over 2019, the app allows users to plan their playlist with Emirates on board IFE system, ice.

To date, the platform offers passengers over 4,000 channels of on-demand entertainment and boasts a catalogue of over 1,000 movies, television box sets, podcasts, games, as well as a generous music collection.

Sir Tim Clark, President, Emirates Airline said: “In keeping with our ‘Fly Better’ promise, our teams work tirelessly to provide ever better world-class travel experiences. Every detail is carefully considered as we continually enhance and develop innovative products and services for our customers.

“This latest functionality on the Emirates app elevates the customer experience even before they step onto the aircraft. Our customers can now browse the unmatched content on offer and create personal entertainment playlists at their leisure, and once comfortably settled in their seats on board, they simply sync and press play.”

Amongst the many functions included as part of the Emirates app, travellers are able to browse the catering menu of their flight, up to a month prior, and includes a 3D seat map, which can be used to familiarise themselves with the aircraft and select their seat during check-in.
