Superhero films reign supreme on Emirates flights with Captain Marvel, Alita: Battle Angel and Avengers: End Game proving to be the most popular choices on the airline’s inflight entertainment system over the summer, according to new data.

Figures from Emirates shows that Captain Marvel was the most watched movie during June, followed by Alita: Battle Angel in July and Avengers: End Game in August.

The airline carried approximately 16 million passengers between June and August.

Over the summer, more than 40,000 unique playlists were created with each one including at least one movie.

Bollywood movies are the most popular non-English language films on board.

In terms of film categories, the most popular choice was ‘New Movies’, followed by ‘Disney’. The third most popular category was Bollywood films.

HBO’s series Chernobyl was the most-watched TV show on Emirates, while the most watched documentary was African Cats.

More than one million passengers used Emirates’ Wi-Fi each month over summer and 40% of travellers chose the unlimited free text messaging option.
