Helping UAE residents to conquer their fears of flying, British Airways has announced the return of its popular Flying With Confidence course. Drawing upon the experience and expertise of the carrier’s own pilots and cabin crew, the course tackles the various psychological challenges associated with air-travel, provides participants with insights into addressing their fear of flying.
Boasting a success rate of 98%, the course has reportedly helped more than 50,000 attendees in the Middle East alone. Split into two sessions over a single day, the course will address common flight occurrences and how to cope with them. This includes aircraft functions, causes of turbulence, as well as other technical aspects of aviation.
BA’s team of experts leading the course will also instruct participants on the various breathing exercises and relaxation techniques that will aid in controlling one’s anxieties.
Steve Allright, a British Airways pilot also involved in the course, shared: “Air travel is an inevitable part of life in UAE and a fear of flying can, therefore, be quite prohibitive and distressing for those who suffer from aerophobia. Through these sessions, I hope more participants can face their fears and make the most of the excellent travel opportunities this region offers, along with British Airways’ far-reaching route map.”
The one-day course will be held on the 26 October at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dubai, from 10:00 – 13:00. The course can be booked online at www.flyingwithconfidence.com and will cost a fee of AED 1,499. Participants will be able to advantage of a 10% discount on any British Airways flight in any cabin class.
