Emirates Airline is increasing baggage allowances for summer travellers. The carrier allows 30kg of baggage in Economy Class regularly.

For travel on or before July 31, Emirates is granting an extra 10kg to Bangladesh and India and an additional 20kg to Pakistan as part of a special Take More This Summer promotion.

“Despite our baggage allowances being amongst the most generous in the airline industry, people still want more, particularly on certain routes and at certain times of the year,” said Majid Al Mualla, Emirates’ SVP, Commercial Operations (Gulf, Middle East & Iran). “With our special summer campaign, hopefully, we can remove some of that packing and airport stress by increasing the complimentary baggage allowance.”

Silver, Gold and Platinum Emirates Skywards Members also have the opportunity to carry even more when travelling to Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Silver members can enjoy an extra 12kg, Gold Members an extra 16kg and Platinum Members an additional 20kg.

On top of this offer, customers can save time at the airport and benefit from a further 30% saving on additional prepaid excess baggage by purchasing online.

A recent survey by LV travel insurance found that UK holidaymakers have spent more than £400 million (AED2.19 billion) on excess baggage charges in the past five years.

Emirates operates 185 flights per week to India, 21 weekly flights to Bangladesh and 58 weekly services to Pakistan.
