Emirates Airline introduced an additional weekly flight to Sana’a in Yemen from 28th October, making it a daily service from Dubai.
The airline launched services to the Yemeni capital on October 28, 1996, beginning with two weekly flights. The route is currently supported with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft in a three-class configuration. Emirates flight 961 leaves Dubai daily at 0715 hrs and arrives in Sana’a at 0900 hrs. The return flight, EK962, leaves Sana’a at 1015 hrs and lands in Dubai at 1345 hrs.
“It is with great pride that we are strengthening our commitment to Yemen at the same time as we celebrate our 16th anniversary,” said Husain Bani Hashem, Emirates’ country manager in Yemen. “Now, with the daily service, Yemen can look forward to trade and tourism being further stimulated between destinations across our vast network via Dubai.”
The seventh weekly flight enables Emirates SkyCargo to offer additional capacity in the belly-hold of aircraft for Yemen’s exports, such as seafood.
With a fleet of 188 aircraft, Emirates currently flies to 127 destinations in 74 countries. In the coming months, the airline will launch further destinations, including Lyon on December 5, Phuket from December 10, Warsaw from February 6, and Algiers from March 1.
