Oman Air was forced to divert a passenger flight to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai yesterday, following a health scare with its captain.
The national carrier’s Boeing 737-800 was travelling from Muscat to Chennai when the captain became seriously ill, according to a report in the Aviation Herald.
As a result, a decision was made by the first officer to divert the aircraft to Mumbai for a safe landing.
The captain was then taken to a local hospital, the report concluded.
