Oman, India sign MoU

Civil aviation authorities from Oman and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for regulating the air transport services between the two countries, Times of Oman has reported.

The MoU was signed from the Omani side by Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Oufi, CEO of PACA, while from the Indian side, it was signed by Dr. P. Kumar, assistant undersecretary at the Civil Aviation Ministry. 

Eng. Al Oufi said the MoU included an amendment to the destination tables agreement for regulating the air transport services, which was signed between the two countries in 1995. 

“Now the national carriers can avail of 16,016 seats per week. Earlier, it was 11,500 seats peer week,” he said. He said that Oman’s national carrier will divide these seats into 14 weekly flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai and seven weekly flights to Bangalore, Calicut, Jaipur, Kochi, Trivandrum and Lucknow, in addition to six weekly flights to Goa.
