Etihad says it is assisting Australian Authorities on investigation

Australian authorities are investigating domestic plot to deploy explosives on an aircraft

Etihad Airways has confirmed it is assisting Australian authorities in an ongoing investigation into an alleged terror plot to deploy explosives on an airplane.

“The Etihad Airways aviation security (AVSEC) team is assisting the Australian Federal Police (AFP) with its investigation and the matter is ongoing. Etihad is complying fully with the enhanced security measures at airports in Australia and monitoring the situation closely. Safety is the airline’s number one priority,” a spokesperson for the airline told Aviation Business.

Australian authorities had revealed earlier this week they had intercepted a terror plot to blow up an airplane with a "sophisticated" improvised explosive device, arresting four suspects in raids on Saturday.
