A new low: Low cost Cebu Pacific will fly to Manila for an astoundingly low AED 149

Cebu's new fares are cheaper than any fare available to India from Dubai

Cebu Pacific has started a month long fare sale to fly passengers from Dubai to Manilla, Philipines, for less than any available fare to India.

Phillipines' low cost carrier is offering passengers the opportunity to avail the fares off its website for travel between September in March.

Low cost carriers are emerging as a growing threat to airlines in the Middle East, under cutting fares by more than half, as the regional industry struggles to cope under falling margins and yields.

Earlier this year, Emirates CEO Tim Clarke called the phenomenon a "gathering storm," warning newer fuel efficient and less expensive aircraft would add further pressure on the industry, adding, "You ain't seen nothing yet."
