Saudia’s international operations remain suspended, the airline confirmed this week.
Domestic operations at 11 of the kingdom’s 28 airports resumed on Sunday, after the grounding of all flights since March 21.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said flights would resume on a gradual basis, with two local flights added daily until all routes returned to their normal capacity.
International operations, however, will remain suspended, with the decision on when they return to normal remaining with the country’s relevant authorities.
Saudia posted the update on its Twitter account on Sunday, saying its international operations are still suspended and that any resumption would be announced through official channels.
The national carrier has been operating repatriation flights from international destinations, bringing Saudi citizens stranded abroad back to the kingdom, as part of “Awdah” (return) scheme.
Saudia said its domestic flight schedule will resume with flights between Jeddah and Hail from today.
