WATCH: Lufthansa plane engine bursts into flames after bird strike

The Airbus A321 had just taken off from Beirut International.

A Lufthansa plane struck a flock of birds after taking off from Beirut International causing flames to shoot out from one of the its engines.

The Airbus A321 was carrying 144 passengers and was en route to Frankfurt.

The plane was forced to return to the airport after losing power in the engine.
