As part of our leadup coverage of the upcoming Aviation Business Middle East Awards 2019, the AVB publication and ITP Media Group is happy to announce the opening of nominations for the 13th iteration of the annual awards.

The new website associated with the awards has not only launched but is also ready to receive submissions for consideration.

We would also like to take this opportunity to shed some light on the changes we’ve made to the categories, along with introducing a new addition to the lineup.

Firstly though, we want to quickly highlight this year’s sponsors of the awards, which includes Gold Sponsors Honeywell and Olympus, as well as Category Sponsor Dunleavy White.

The must-attend aviation event continues to serve as a platform dedicated to recognising and celebrating the progressive efforts of the Middle East’s aviation market.

In terms of the changes to this year’s categories. AVB has decided to combine the Airline of the Year category to include both foreign-headquartered and Middle East-based airlines operating within the region.

The award will consider factors such as new route launches (connecting the Middle East to overseas countries or vice versa), aircraft investments and industry alliances.

Our newest award to be introduced this year’s lineup is the Young Aviation Executive of the Year. The award aims to recognise the achievements of a young professional working in the aviation industry in the region today. Young aviation professionals (under 35) may nominate themselves, or organisations can choose to nominate members of their staff that stand out as young achievers.

The nomination deadline for the Aviation Business Awards is set for the 7 August 2019.
