Lockheed Martin, a global aerospace and defence manufacturer, has announced its plans to participate at the upcoming Bahrain International Airshow.
In addition, serving as Gold Sponsor of the airshow, Lockheed Martin is expected to hold several aerial demonstrations of its F-16 fighter jet. The company will also be exhibiting other defence solutions for both land and air from Chalet A-28 and stand C-02, inside the exhibition centre.
Holding long-standing ties with the Gulf country that dates back almost 40 years, Bahrain was the first country in the region to adopt the F-16 aircraft for the Royal Bahraini Air Force. More recently, Bahrain has moved to adopt the current F-16 Block 70, as well as becoming the 18th nation to select the C-10j Super Hercules to fulfil tactical airlift needs. The country has already announced the procurement of two C-130Js.
Commenting on the upcoming participation, Robert Harward, regional chief executive of Lockheed Martin, shared: “Our enduring relationship with the Kingdom of Bahrain is anchored in our deep commitment to supporting the leadership in ensuring the safety and security of its people through proven performance, partnership and innovation.”
“The Bahrain International Airshow offers Lockheed Martin a valuable opportunity to connect and engage with our local partners, as well as to showcase our wide range of flexible, advanced technological capabilities.”
Hosted under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamed bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, this year’s edition of the biennial Bahrain International Airshow will be held at the Sakhir Air Base from 14-16 November 2018.
