Brawl on KLM flight scrambles two F-16 fighter jets

After a fight broke out on board a KLM flight travelling from Abu Dhabi to Amsterdam, the Dutch Air Force launched two F-16 fighters to escort the Airbus A330-200 jet as it approached Schiphol airport.

According to initial reports, the brawl involved an aggressive American passenger, who was arrested upon arrival at the airport. The man was treated for minor wounds and has been admitted into a psychiatric institution for observation.

A handful of other passengers on the flight also received minor injuries. This included two passengers who received a black eye each.

A statement released from KLM noted their concerns with the incident, while at the same time praising the cabin crew for following protocol in dealing with such scenarios.
