Upon arriving from an overnight flight from Xiamen in China to Hong Kong, passengers and plane spotters alike were surprised to find the Cathay Pacific aircraft had mispelled the company's name.
Printed as 'Cathay Paciic', the Boeing 777-367 aircraft has since gone back to the paint job for corrections.
Making light of the accident on its social media channels, the airline has since issued a statement clarifying that the misspelling was a genuine mistake.
Social media users were quick to join in the fun.
