Star Alliance launches new lounge at Fiumicino Airport

The lounge is open to both First and Business Class Passengers travelling on a member airline, as well as Star Alliance Gold Card holders

Located in Boarding Zone D of Fiumicino Airport’s Terminal 3, Star Alliance’ new lounge is open to both First and Business Class passengers on Alliance member carrier flights, as well as Star Alliance Gold Card holders.

Boasting a capacity of 130 guests, the newly minted lounge features Italian designer furniture, a staffed bar, as well as a barista coffee station. Free Wi-Fi is also available, along with several workspaces with a mix of standard and USB power outlets. Star Alliance’s lounge is open daily from 05:15 to 21:15.

Christian Draeger, vice president of Customer Experience, Star Alliance, said: “Star Alliance has set itself the overall goal of improving the customer’s travel experience. Offering a premium lounge product is an integral part of this strategy.

Our new Rome Lounge expands the network of Star Alliance branded lounges to seven and offers our customers flying from the ‘Eternal City’ a state of the art lounge experience.”

The new lounge was refurbished in close collaboration with Aviapartner and Aeroporti di Roma. The lounge provides easy access to departure gates member carrier flights heading to European destinations in the Schengen Zone.

Only a few days ago, the Airports Council International presented our airport with the Best Airport Award 2018, the most important award in our industry.”

A total of 17 Start Alliance member carriers serve Rome, reportedly delivering non-stop service to 25 destinations in 20 countries. Additionally, the lounge is the latest in more than 1,000 lounges that fall under the Alliance’s umbrella, which also includes third-party operated lounges. These included Alliance branded lounges at Los Angeles International Airport, Buenos Aires Airport, and Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport, to name a few.
