Airbus has chosen its A330s to take centre stage during its commercial flying displays at the Dubai Airshow next week.

An A330-900 and an A330neo will take to the skies above DWC in front of airline bosses and aircraft procurers from around the world.

The A330-800 first flew a year ago but has since struggled to attract orders. Similarly, the A330neo has proved largely unfruitful for Airbus.

Nevertheless, Airbus is hoping to use the Dubai Airshow “as a platform to highlight its best-in-class products”.

On the static display, Airbus will showcase the A350-900, Salam Air’s A320neo and EGYPTAIR’s A220-300, the newest member of the Airbus single-aisle family.

Airbus will also display an ACJ319 from K5 Aviation, highlighting the trend towards larger cabins in new-generation business jets.

In the customers’ display, Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways will showcase their A380s, giving the opportunity to tour the double-decker.

Airbus Helicopters will display Kuwait Police’s H225, tailored to the specifications of the Kuwaiti police force.

More than 740 Airbus aircraft operate in the Middle East region and the company has signed orders for more than 1,400 aircraft of various types destined for Middle Eastern carriers over the next decade.
