Etihad Cargo has embarked on an ambitious transformation journey over the past 12 months and has already achieved significant milestones.
Since implementation, it has handled almost half-a-million bookings through iCargo, 20% of which were logged directly via its website. It has also grown its monthly online booking rate from virtually zero to nearly 34%.
Driven by customer preferences, Etihad Cargo is implementing increased digital efficiency across the company, as evidenced by the launch of its enterprise data lake that provides internal access to on-demand information across all Etihad Cargo’s stations.
This has cascaded into the creation of its state-of-the-art Cargo Control Centre. While this is only the start of Etihad Cargo’s digitalisation journey, it says it is nearing the front of the early adopter curve.
It aims to be committed to fundamentally shifting the way it does business by championing a fully digitalised approach that enhances customers’ experience at every touch point.
Ecommerce provides a key opportunity for cargo operators in the UAE and represents a core pillar of Etihad Cargo’s strategy. It recognises the opportunities that increasing customer demand in this sector represent. Its growth strategy is heavily focused on this segment.
